In early part of 2009 genocide of Tamils in Sri Lanka reachedits peak, killing almost 40000 Tamils at Mullivaikal. Although theinternational community knew this genocide they did not take anystep to prevent it. Further with all the evidence available to provethis genocide the international community has not taken necessaryactions yet. At present the remaining Tamils in north and east ofSri Lanka are under the Sri Lankan army control and there is anethnic cleansing taking place. In order to stop this genocide and tosubmit the following requests, a protest walk is organized on 24thof July commencing from London, UK through France to Geneva.This protest walk is undertaken by Mr.G.Sivanthan (Gobi). At theconclusion of this protest journey a petition with four major pointswill be submitted to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.The four points are:

1. The genocide against Tamil people in Sri Lanka and themass murder should be investigated by an internationalcommittee.

2. The experts committee appointed by the united nationsto investigate war crimes in Sri Lanka should functionindependently and the perpetrators of war crimes should bebrought in front of the international community and punishfor their crimes (This will prevent further genocidal activitiesagainst Tamils by the Sri Lankan forces).

3. All the Tamils including the people behind barbed wire fencein camps should be able to live at their own places withoutmilitary control as free citizens.

4. A list of Tamils who were arrested, surrendered anddisappeared in Sri Lanka should be published immediatelyand their whereabouts notified.
